Sometimes the dining stars align. Not all who wander through Parkville are lost but find themselves at Cafe Des Ami's doorstep by happy happenstance. With no reservations on a Friday night and 5 minute wait we were ushered to the outdoor dining area. Sublime breeze and a tree house like feel. Candles lit, wine sipped as we chatted with our young hostess. It's a family ran business and our hostess is first generation and her parents both French are busy taking care of patrons too. They go back to Paris every year and she's having a great first week back to school. Beef short ribs and a Le Creuset filled with mussels, shrimp, salmon in creamy wine sauce arrive. Both are divine and we leave no morsel behind thanks to the hot bread. Everything about the experience is thoughtful, meant to be enjoyed thoroughly. I almost felt bad snapping the image of it all, but just almost. It was a night worth remembering and eagerly look forward to repeating it.

We had a 8pm dinner on the patio. The patio is a nice quiet place eat overlooking main in Parkville. A light rain added to the ambiance. Service was excellent including the dinner recommendations. The food was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the old fashioned with candied orange in the glass. Perfect date night get away only a few miles from home.

We held our March book club meeting here and wow! First off, the location in quaint downtown Parkville is so cute; corner building with a side entrance up some stairs and into an old converted building/house sits this beautiful intimate French inspired cafe. The wait staff were so knowledgeable about the menu and they catered to my gluten free friend with ease and expertise! The food was amazing, so flavorful and the drinks were as well. Highly recommend for a date night or a girls brunch or even a solo dining experience! So so good!

This place was so cute and tucked away! It seemed to be an old house converted into a cafe, they put a French charm to the place all around! Menu was to die for! I had the salmon with lemon and white wine sauce and it literally melted in my mouth. Best salmon I've had! Crème brûlée was of course not a disappointment as well! Staff was fast and observant at when water was needed and food came out fast. Would definitely come back and try more!

Exquisite Cuisine matched with impeccable Service. We popped in on a weeknight without a reservation and we were seated immediately. The room was intimate and there were curtains drawn across other rooms. I would Definitely Recommend Reservations! Joseph promptly came over and introduced himself and went over all the specials in detail. Throughout the evening he thoughtfully asked about time between courses and if we wanted more bread, and was one of the most polite servers I've encountered. He never just assumed. He never removed a plate without asking. I appreciated his attention to our experience. One thing that did bother me is that fresh utensils were not brought between courses, but that is Quite French ( I assume ). The Food was Excellent. We started with Pate I loved the accoutrements. We got a second loaf of bread as it was delicious as well. We split a salad ( the chef split for us ) and then shared entrees. The chef's halibut special was excellent ( it was California halibut, so smaller flake versus Alaskan ). We also got lamb chops. I loved the chops were lollipop style because I'm not shy about picking up my food. We then ordered the sweetbreads ( they are a very savory appetizer ) before dessert because why not! My friend said the old fashioned wasn't good ( but I held my tounge, it's a French restaurant and I wouldn't expect a US cocktail to be top notch... ). French only wine list. The Crème Brulée was good, classic. The Chocolate Soufflé was perfect! I'm excited to come back for lunch.

This was definitely a splurge for my birthday, and on my own "dime"! The food was incredible, including the duck breast with a blackberry sauce, and their sinfully good chocolate soufflé. My friend enjoyed the Barramundi entrée currently on the menu. Of course the atmosphere/ambience is definitely French, upscale, attractive, cozy, and romantic. But no romance is needed to enjoy their delectable and beautifully presented food. The service was very good, and both of our entrées and my soufflé came out much faster than expected. They prefer that you include all menu categories you want when you first order. But if you do decide on the soufflé later, allow an extra 15 minutes. One intriguing appetizer special was a vegetarian pate made with Lion's Mane mushrooms, which, if you've ever seen the amazing movie "Fabulous Fungi," you'll know is supposed to be very good for the brain and cognition! But even without that, I was very cognizant of the prices, which were generally more reasonable than I expected, but definitely not in my daily budget! Your check is accompanied by two very tiny tasty macarons! The restrooms at restaurants are important overall quality and cleanliness indicators to me, and they did not disappoint. The two gender neutral ones are clean, charmingly decorated, and all you have to do is press a button and a new clean plastic cover encircles the toilet seat! All in, I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion. Do be prepared to walk up a somewhat steep outside wooden staircase to get in, but it's worth the climb!

Cute, quaint French restaurant located in Downtown Parkville. The atmosphere feels laid back and you can truly take your time and enjoy your company. Food was tasty and service was excellent! It is a little on the pricer size in regards to portion size.

If you're looking for authentic French food, with real French owners, and Chefs, look no further. Had a rare date here recently and it was amazing. Guillerm was super kind and reccomended us wine and pairings. The appetizers to desserts were all spectacular. My main course was amazing, however, the Riviera bowl of soup was a for our tastes, a bit heavy. Can't wait to come again!!! Merci beaucoup à bientôt. À plus tard
